Coconut Grove Kailua Real EstateCoconut Grove Kailua is one of Kailua’s older neighborhoods. This is a relatively flat area of Kailua, with some Kailua homes dating to the early 1940’s. Coconut Grove Kailua is the former site of a large coconut grove, which gives this area of Kailua real estate its name.

Coconut Grove is the most affordable single family home area in Kailua, with Kailua homes for sale starting from around 600 sq ft in size, and about $750K. Occaisionally, less expensive homes will come up. Those will gernerally be tear-downs or on excessively small lots. Lot size is generally between 3,700-7,000 sq ft, with a few much larger exceptions. Prices generally do not go beyond $1.3M and most are in the $900-1.1M range.

Kailua Homes for sale in Coconut Grove may be in various stages of remodel, in this eclectic area, but I have seen some gorgeous remodels and adorable rehabbed cottages.  There are can be some very good Kailua real esate values in Coconut Grove, for first-time homebuyers or investors, as the area is highly rentable.  

Most of the older homes in Coconut Grove Kailua are post and pier construction bungalows, without garages. Many have carports added over the years.

Some of the homes in Coconut Grove, particularly those along the Kawainui Marsh side can have very nice marsh/mountain views.  There are also some apartment complexes and condominiums in Coconut Grove Kailua.

Coconut Grove Kailua real estate is desirable to many, not only because of its affordability, but because of its convenience to shopping and restaurants, as Coconut Grove is near the middle of Kailua Town. You can walk or bike a short distance to anything you might need. Also, most homes in Coconut Home are also just around a mile from Kailua Beach, give or take a block or so.

Coconut Grove is approximately located South of (but does not include) Kaha Street, East of Kaiwanui Marsh, North of Pali Hwy/Kailua Road, and West of Maluniu Street.
