Enchanted Lake Kailua Real Estate by Home Shoppe Hawaii

Enchanted Lake Kailua is a highly-desired neighborhood in a mainly flat section of SW Kailua. Enchanted Lake Kailua real estate consists mostly of homes originally built in the early 1960’s, as part of the Enchanted Lakes Estates subdivision. With a maze of curving streets all surrounding Kaelepulu Pond (aka Enchanted Lake), this area of Kailua real estate is located mostly inside the loop formed by Keolu Drive. However, Enchanted Lake Kailua real estate also lies North of the loop, bounded by Mid-Pacific Country Club Golf Course to the East, Auwina Street and Auwina Place to the North, and Hamakua Drive to the West.

Most of the Kailua homes for sale in Enchanted Lake Kailua are fairly similar, mid-century single-family, slab construction bungalows, unless renovated. There were originally only a handful of models sold — all with vaulted ceilings, side entry carports and covered lanais. Many Kailua homes for sale have undergone renovation and some have been torn down, as well, so you see a mix of styles in this Kailua real estate.

Within the Enchanted Lake Kailua neighborhood, there are a variety of price points and a variety of frontages.  Some Enchanted Lake Kailua homes for sale have frontage on the Mid-Pacific Golf Course and some homes are on the lake (Kaelepulu Pond aka Enchanted Lake) or on one of several the canals leading to the ocean, with boat docks. These Enchanted Lake Kailua canalfront and lakefront homes are great for the sports enthusiast who enjoys taking out a kayak and paddling to Kailua Beach, or even those who prefer to relax and cruise the water on a party barge or electric boat. Golf course frontage is nice for a view and wide open space, or if you are a member at the Mid-Pacific Country Club.

Some of the waterfront and golf course homes are quite spectacular. Typically, these are on 10,000 sq ft plus lots. But all the lots in the Enchanted Lake neighborhood are good-sized, generally from 7,500-11,000 sq ft. and the homes vary in size from about 1,200 to 3,500 sq ft. Homes originally built were in the 950-1500 sq ft range. Many have enclosed lanais to add living space. Many have also gone up with second stories. With prices generally from $900K to $1.2M (except $1.4M-1.9M for the most pricey, remodeled waterfront or golf course homes), this can be one of the more affordable areas of Kailua.  

Besides affordability, the Enchanted Lake neighborhood is also attractive to many because of its Top-Rated public school, Enchanted Lake Elementary. The area also has a few private schools, its own shopping district Enchanted Lake Shopping Center, and several restaurants and churches.
