SONY OPEN IN HAWAII - Oahu PGA Golf Tournament

The Sony Open in Hawaii is here again!

One of the most popular golf tournaments to occur annually on Oahu, the Sony Open, starts this coming week, January 11-14. Held at the Waialae Country Club in Kahala, every year, the Hawaii Sony Open PGA Golf Tournament is one to not miss. Tee times can be found on the Sony Open Website

The Sony Open in Honolulu, Hawaii is a professional golf tournament on the PGA Tour.  Currently, the Open is held in mid-January, following the Tournament of Champions on Maui. The front and back nines of Waialae are switched for the PGA Tour event, finishing at the dogleg ninth hole. The tournament is currently organized by Friends of Hawaii Charities.  In addition to the usual PGA Tour eligibility criteria, the Sony Open may invite up to three professional golfers from emerging markets.

Oahu Real Estate | Sold Homes in Kaimuki, Honolulu

The fourth quarter of 2014 was busy for Home Shoppe Hawaii and two of the homes we sold were in the Kaimuki neighborhood of Honolulu.

The first was a CPR home, built in 1939 and located at 1010A 8th Ave in Kaimuki, Honolulu. This was a gracious old plantation-style home with a daylight basement, with a total of 4 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. This Honolulu home was in need of some upgrades, but was otherwise solid and presented a good opportunity for extra income, since the basement featured a separate entrance, as well as a wet bar. This home was listed by Yvonne Jaramillo Ahearn (B), and sold for $810,000 FS (with multiple offers) on 12/14/14.

The second Kaimuki home was located just down the street from the first at 1009 2nd Ave in Kaimuki, Honolulu. This was a cute old 1934 cottage with 2 bedrooms and 1 bath. Honolulu Real Estate | Kapahulu Home with Ocean Views SOLD: $706,500 FS

Home Shoppe Hawaii is pleased to have recently helped our Buyers purchase a Honolulu Home at 3518 McCorriston Street in the Kapahulu neighborhood of Diamond Head.  This was a private sale of an unlisted Honolulu property that Home Shoppe Hawaii arranged on behalf of our clients. Because this Kapahulu home was not listed, Home Shoppe Hawaii managed both sides of the transaction, though we represented only the Buyers on the transaction. Having no listing agent resulted in significant savings to my Buyers in their purchase.  It also enabled my Buyers to purchase this home without having outside competition. Honolulu Condo with View at Summer Palace - SOLD $388K

Today’s sale of this Honolulu condominium listed by Home Shoppe Hawaii is proof that Honolulu real estate is doing well. In particular, the Honolulu condominium market has picked up immensely over the past 6 months. Home Shoppe Hawaii listed this Ala Moana condominium at $385K and it sold in just about a week for $388K, with multiple offers. That makes this sale the highest EVER price per square foot in history of the Summer Palace building.
